Club Formation

This is to announce the formation of the Movie Club of Cincinnati. Invitations were sent to thirteen people and all thirteen accepted membership. Input was solicited as to what form the club's activities would take and this represents my best attempt at expressing the wishes of the membership. A monthly screening was decided upon, Wednesday was the day chosen and, arbitrarily, the third Wednesday of each month. Meeting on Wednesday works well because theaters change some films on Friday, so on Friday we can determine whether our selection will still be playing. Interest was also shown in Friday and Sunday afternoons and we may reconsider when we meet based on our experience with the current meeting schedule. Choosing the movie is a heavy responsibility and a thankless task. I think that the chooser position should be rotated. I suggest as a process that the chooser notify the members of the choice by Monday for the Wednesday following. The chooser is under no obligation to change the choice based on feedback from other members but may choose to do so. If you don’t care to be a chooser please let me know. The March theme is St. Patrick’s Day. You may wish to wear a funny green hat, green beads, a shamrock, the Blarney Stone, etc.   We will kick off the club with a March 16 pot luck at our place. (1) social hour 4pm to 5pm, (2) movie at 5pm, (3) discussion and further socializing after the movie. Feel free to participate in only one or two of the three activities.
